NWRT adoption of the Ogwen Discharge Sensor
We are excited to announce that the North Wales Rivers Trust has taken over the management and operation of the Ogwen Discharge Sensor from Bangor University. This state-of-the-art sensor, located on the Afon Ogwen, plays a crucial role in monitoring water levels and flow rates, providing vital data for investigations into flood predictions and fecal coliforms. By adopting the sensor, the North Wales Rivers Trust aims to enhance its monitoring capabilities and strengthen its commitment to the conservation and protection of the Menai Straits through further research into one of the major catchment systems.
This collaboration will enable the North Wales Rivers Trust to make informed decisions and take proactive measures to mitigate the impacts heavy rainfall and safeguard the ecological health of the Ogwen River and the surrounding environment. We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes that this partnership brings to the MSPF.
