Exploring the Afon Braint: A Day of Habitat Surveys and Conservation Efforts
This past week, we had the pleasure of spending a rewarding day out on the Afon Braint, where our dedicated volunteer group came together to conduct essential baseline habitat surveys.
Habitat Surveys and Water Quality Testing
Our activities for the day included the use of sweep nets to explore the biodiversity within the Afon Braint, providing us with valuable insights into the health and variety of aquatic life in the area. Alongside this, we carried out water quality testing, a crucial step in monitoring the overall condition of the river and identifying any potential environmental concerns.
These baseline surveys are a vital part of our long-term conservation strategy. By regularly collecting data on the river’s habitat and water quality, we can track changes over time, respond quickly to emerging threats, and ensure that the Afon Braint continues to support a thriving ecosystem.
